This experiential journey began at the Educational Institution N°. 18260, as part of a pedagogical strategy that sought to promote education through interaction with local culture and the appreciation of ancestral knowledge associated with the technique of backstrap loom.
Currently, the Educational Association “Yachay Ñaupa Quelucas” continues to promote this activity, strengthening the identity of the inhabitants of this area or place and encouraging the generational handover of this art to the youngest members of the community.
It is a concept that considers a specific territory as an "open-air museum". It has two basic principles: the first is to preserve the real in situ, that is, maintain the relationship between the heritage and the people throughout the territory of the Ecomuseum; the second is that the inhabitants of the community are the heirs of the local culture and hosts, and at the same time, they are also the first guests.
